Within the Walking Tent – Robot Partner 4.0 project Stefan Doepner deals with the relation between technology, architecture and contemporary concepts of mobility and temporality. Mobility and temporality seem today more than ever those constants which determine our lives tremendously. The image of the pavilion/tent, which moves autonomous in the space, thus functions as a metaphor for extremely unstable living and working conditions on the one side and for escapist practices and leisure time activities on the other. But, Walking Tent is also just a clumsy tent, trying hard to move somewhere.

Walking Tent is realized in the frame of the longer term project Robot Partner, which Stefan Doepner develops since 2007, and in the frame of the project Relocation which Obrat develops since 2008.
